This is a chunk of an extremely rare variety of Guatemala known as Moss and Snow. it features highly translucent snowy white jade with areas of vibrant and sought after imperial green.
A perfect source of material for many pieces of high end jade jewelry that will be sure to draw some eyes. While the stone does have some minor fracturing, it is remarkably stable when carved, leading me to believe some of what appear as fractures are actually features in the stone. There are areas that have visible crystalline structure, but it maintains a high translucency that sets it apart from some of the lighter colored sugary jadeite from Guatemala. Over all this super rare stone is a great carver, and it‘s sure to produce many beautiful pieces in the right hands.
